Nidlenloch cave tour

Nidlenloch cave tour

Look forward to an interesting tour through a cave in the Solothurn Jura. The Nidlenloch is a cave system that is almost a million years old. This adventure takes you through a cave that was formed during the Ice Age and is a protected area. The entrance to the cave tour is located at 1274 m above sea level in the Weissenstein area. There is plenty to discover as you wander through the passages on this underground experience. An expedition through the Nidlenloch cave can be undertaken in any weather, as it is not water-active and cannot fill with water when it rains or the snow melts. This cave was formed by water run-off from the glacier and is completely safe today. In 1909, it was considered the deepest cave in the world.

Frequently asked questions Cave tour

The corridors of the cave resemble a labyrinth. Without experience, it is easy to lose your bearings and reading the map is difficult due to the different levels. For this reason, we offer our cave tour with a cave guide.

We offer a cave tour with easier sections for beginners, which do not require any previous knowledge or experience. For the advanced tour, you must already have caving and climbing experience, e.g. ascent and descent on a rope.
